    The Cascade Public Library respects your right to privacy and makes every effort to protect your rights as a borrower and as a user of our web services.  The information gathered through the use of the web site is strictly for statistical purposes and is not meant to infringe upon user rights.  The information gathered through the web is for the purposes of identifying the types of services accessed so that we may improve upon electronic services in the future.  These data surveys do not identify users by name or unique Internet identification.  The typical data accumulated is to evaluate web services accessed; the last visit by a user; the time of day web services were accessed; the type of browser used to access services; the type of operating system of the user; total number of requests and renewals made from the catalog system.

    Personal information of individuals is occasionally requested to provide library services, like library cards, ordering materials, personal responses to inquiries, or being added to specific mailing lists. The Cascade Public Library does not sell, rent or otherwise distribute information to outside companies or organizations unless legally required to do so.  Library records may be subject to disclosure to law enforcement officials under provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act.

    Cookies are small text files placed on user computers by a web service to allow recognition of a particular user.  The Library Catalog and remote databases require the use of cookies for each session.  These cookies do not capture personal information or compromise visitor privacy, and are deleted when the sessions are ended.  Users may refuse to allow cookies, but the user will not be able to access these specialized services remotely.

    Cascade Public Library recommends selected links to outside sites. These sites, however, are independent of the Library, have different privacy policies, and the Library is not responsible for information contained on those sites.
